On Saturday, November 4th, Our City Buffalo will host a meat raffle to raise funds for their ongoing work to create a better Buffalo at the American Legion Post (located at 533 Amherst Street, Buffalo). Doors will open at 6pm and first spin will take place at 7pm.
“Attending one of these fundraisers is quite possibly the most quintessentially Buffalo thing you can do,” said reporter and Buffalonian David Hill.
Tickets for the meat raffle are $13 presale or $15 at the door. Beer, wine, and pop are all included in the price of admission. For those who do not drink alcoholic beverages the price for tickets are $10 presale and $10 at the door.
Tables of eight are available for presale only. Almost 100 tickets have already been sold since Our City Buffalo announced the meat raffle less than one week ago. Capacity is limited and only 200 tickets are being sold for this event.
In addition to the meat raffle, there will be a 50/50 raffle, basket raffles from locally owned and independent businesses and nonprofit organizations like Rose Jade Consulting Cooperative, The Farm Shop, The Pilates Lab, Sasmita Batik, Squeaky Wheel, Westside Stories Used Books, Ujima Company, and many more!
Finally, Our City Buffalo is also raffling off two items that people do not need to be present for to win. The first is a pair of tickets in a suite at the Buffalo Bills home game against the New York Jets. People can purchase tickets (1 for $5, 5 for $10, or 10 for $15) at the following link: https://www.ourcityactionbuffalo.com/shop. Similarly, the Game Day Prize Pack is being raffled off at the same link and includes a smart television, gift card to La Nova for wings and pizza, as well as beer (or winners choice) to cheers every touchdown with.
“Buffalo is the City of Good Neighbors and meat raffles are another example of that spirit embodied in our moniker. Over the years, hundreds of thousands of dollars has been raised by communities coming together and supporting good causes, said Our City Buffalo’s Director Harper Bishop. “We know that the same will be true of this meat raffle and we thank you for your generosity in advance.”
Tickets can be purchased at https://www.ourcityactionbuffalo.com/shop or via check/cash by emailing us at [email protected].
