REVENGE OF THE RADIOACTIVE REPORTER | The Unstreamables Series at the North Bend Theatre
Reporter Mike R. Wave (David Scammell) is on the verge of unveiling widespread corruption at the local nuclear power plant. When the evil suits catch wind of what Mr. Wave is going to publish, they dump him in a vat of toxic waste. What they didn’t expect is Wave returning as a radioactive mutant and vowing bloody revenge on those who wronged him. Directed by Craig Pryce (TV’s GOOSEBUMPS and ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK?), beautifully lensed by Paul Sarossy (who would go on to DP for Paul Schrader and Neil LaBute), and featuring outstanding DIY effects overseen by John Gajdecki (SLITHER, JOHNNY MNEMONIC), REVENGE OF THE RADIOACTIVE REPORTER combines the prosthetics and iconography of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET with the themes and tasteless humor of Troma’s THE TOXIC AVENGER for a goofy (complimentary), gory Canadian oddity from the video store era that is sure to leave you glowing.
