Reclaiming Voices Art Show

The voices of survivors of sexual abuse and exploitation are often silenced. Reclaim13 seeks to change this though the Reclaiming Voices Survivor Art Show. At Reclaim13, we strive to help reclaim the lives of children and women impacted by sexual abuse and exploitation. This is a critical problem that often goes unnoticed in our cities and suburban communities. The Reclaiming Voices Survivor Art Show is designed to allow survivors to “reclaim” their voices by sharing their stories through their personal artistic styles. By providing a safe space for individual expression, we hope to inspire the community, promote healing, and empower survivors to have their voices heard. The exhibit welcomes both professional and aspiring artists as well as anonymous submissions and is not a judged competition. Showcased at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL., the exhibit will feature art in various expressive mediums, including photography, painting, music, sculpture, movement, poetry, and more. The 5th Annual Reclaiming Voices Survivor Art Show aids in our mission to help survivors take courageous steps in their healing journey. Join us Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 10am – 4pm in the Sycamore Room at the Morton Arboretum. This event will be free to the public when guests mention the Reclaim13 Art Show at the gate. Survivor art submissions are being accepted at reclaim13.org/art-show. ABOUT Reclaim13 The mission of Reclaim13 is to forge pathways for healing survivors of child sexual abuse and exploitation. To accomplish this, Reclaim13 focuses on 3 main areas: healing, prevention, and engagement. The healing programs include safe housing, mentoring, and child and family support services. Prevention efforts focus on equipping parents and children with the skills to identify abuse and predator tactics. Engagement with the community and volunteers helps make vital strides in ending the cycle of sexual exploitation. Together, this builds a supportive community that allows survivors to heal and step courageously into bright futures.
