Step outside and return to the simplicity, clarity, and presence of haiku.
Reacquaintance to Haiku is a guided outdoor poetry workshop inviting participants to slow down, observe, and reconnect—with language, with nature, and with themselves. Whether you're new to haiku or returning to it after time away, this immersive experience offers tools and inspiration for writing powerful, minimalist poetry rooted in the present moment.
Led in a peaceful outdoor setting, the workshop will explore:
The traditional and modern forms of haiku
Observation-based writing techniques
Seasonal language, silence, and brevity
Writing prompts inspired by the environment around us
Bring a notebook, something to sit on, hydration of your choice, plus your sense of curiosity. All levels welcome.
