Reading of the Declaration of Independence
A reading of the Declaration of Independence will take place Tuesday, July 4, at the Schley Avenue Veterans Memorial, 1045 Schley Ave., in San Antonio beginning at 9 a.m.
Highland Park Neighborhood resident Tom Wetzler, wearing American Revolution-era attire, will perform the reading, playing the role of a messenger from 1776 Philadelphia.
This short annual event, sponsored by the Highland Park Neighborhood Association, is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, but limited seating will be available.
