Join the Ravenswood Neighbors Association and Montrose Metra Community Gardens, Openlands, Kramer Tree Specialists, Chicago Bird Alliance, The Hive Supply Company, The Helpful Hummingbird, and other special guests for our third annual Garden Crawl and Happy Hour on Saturday, July 27, 2024. All programs are free!
New tours begin every hour between 9am-3pm and depart from the RNA event tent at Ravenswood & Sunnyside (west side of Metra tracks, see schedule below). Join our guides for free group tours of RNA native gardens, the neighborhood tree canopy (with certified arborists), and the Sunnyside Savanna, with additional free workshops on beekeeping, container gardening, and birding in Chicago. We will have local honey for sale, a kids’ craft, free wildflower seeds (while supplies last), and our gardening-themed fundraising raffle. This event also features a self-guided tour of privately owned gardens in the neighborhood.
After a day of inspiration and learning, unwind at our Happy Hour from 3pm-5pm at Platform 47 (4709 N. Damen Avenue). Enjoy live old-time bluegrass music from Rachel Kazez & Friends, enjoy a beverage with us, and network with fellow gardening and environmental enthusiasts.
To register your garden for the garden walk, please fill out this form. Don’t miss out on this incredible celebration of nature and community! This is a rain-or-shine event.
