Rainbow Summer


MPAC and Milwaukee Downtown is announcing five nights of free live music as part of Rainbow Summer: HIGHLIGHT featuring Elysian Arcs, taking place July 23 – 27. Performances Tuesday through Friday will begin at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday’s performance will begin at 6:30 p.m. Additional nightly activities include bubble playtime by Michelle Hackett from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and local food trucks and beverages by Sazama’s Fine Catering beginning at 4:30 p.m. A rainbow-colored piano will also be placed on the Outdoor Grounds each morning (weather permitting) to invite community members to play and make their own music. Tuesday, July 23, 103.7 KISS-FM's morning show co-host DZ will be broadcasting live from the Outdoor Grounds from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, The Robert Randolph Band. This collaboration marks the second date of the inaugural The Summer of Soul: Outdoor Marketplace & Concert Series and is co-presented by MPAC and Culture x Design. Thursday evening, the Mercadera Market, a Latina-owned market that supports female entrepreneurs, will open on the grounds at 4:00 p.m. Family Day sponsored by Children’s Wisconsin will take place on Saturday, July 27 and will include a Kid Boogie Down Dance Party with DJ lukewarm from 3:00-6:00 p.m. alongside Spin Art MKE and face painting, with an interactive bubble station beginning at 4:00 p.m. All events are free and open to the public and will take place alongside the immersive public art installation “Elysian Arcs” by Atelier Sisu.
