Hanne Larson's book, Uh-Oh. My Son is Not Like the Other Boys. How fear kept me from loving my non-binary gay child is a parenting story of fear and love. This memoir chronicles remembrances of how Hanne’s fears and need to self-protect cost her now gay, transgender non-binary child greatly. It is the painful journey of missed opportunities. And yet is also full of hope and redemption.
Hanne Larson was born and raised in Denmark. She came to the United States at age 18 to attend college in Minnesota. Hanne married Scott in 1987 and moved to Massachusetts where they founded Straight Ahead Ministries, a ministry to justice involved youth. They have two grown children. Hanne lives in Worcester, Massachusetts where she spends most of her time enjoying relationships.
