Odysseus’s Night Out: Daughters of Penelope Hosts Quarter Auction to Benefit Two Local Nonprofits
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — There will be fun and fast-paced bidding when the Daughters of Penelope, Aeneas Chapter 210, hosts an exciting Quarter Auction benefiting Vincent House and MacDonald Training Center on September 12.
Quarter Auctions are a fresh and increasingly popular twist on the traditional auction. Instead of placing large bids, guests use a bidding paddle and quarters to compete for an array of donated prizes. With an auctioneer keeping the action moving, bids can increase in increments of just 25 cents, creating an entertaining and energetic evening where guests have the chance to win terrific prizes for a surprisingly small investment.
From vacation travel and restaurant gift cards to other exciting items, the Quarter Auction offers something for everyone—and plenty of opportunities to cheer, laugh and bid.
There will be a special auction for signed Horse Soldier bourbons and raffle tickets to be sold the night of the event for a Mystery Box valued over $1,000. Proceeds will benefit Vincent House and MacDonald Training Center, two respected local organizations dedicated to creating greater opportunities and stronger communities for people with disabilities and mental illness.
“We invite the local community to come together for an evening that combines great fun with a meaningful purpose,” said Tori Stein, Chapter President of the Daughters of Penelope. “The Quarter Auction is unlike a traditional auction—it is fast, interactive and full of surprises. Most importantly, every quarter raised helps support two organizations making a real difference in the lives of marginalized people in our community.”
