Quad City Juneteenth Celebration Weekend starts off Friday, June 20 – Meet & Greet (6–9 p.m.) Held at American Legion Post 253 (849 American Legion Dr., Festus), this free social gathering offers house music, famous fish fry for purchase and opportunities for mingling. Saturday, June 21 - We start the day off with Honk & Wave (Drive or Walk Thru) of the Historic Mt. Zion Cemetery. The final resting place of many who shaped our communities history. Enjoy free hot dogs, chips, and soda while you connect with heritage and honor the legacy of our ancestors. – Juneteenth Dance (6–11:000 p.m.) at The Amvets Hall in Herculaneum, this lively evening features DJ music, door prizes, food, and Honorary & Distinguished Guests presentation. Admission is $10 for adults; children 10 and under enter free. ​ Sunday, June 22 – Sunday Service & Freedom Fun Day, 11 a.m.: A Juneteenth program at Buren Chapel A.M.E. Church Herculaneum,1:00 p.m.: Freedom Fun Day Picnic at Herculaneum City Park offers free hot dogs, chips and soda, games, activities for the kids and Kades Playground/Splashpad,. Attendees are welcome to bring in their own lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the fun. All events are open to the public and aim to foster community spirit while commemorating the significance of Juneteenth.
