PRODUCTION ASSISTANT WORKSHOP 10/26 @ BCC
The Berkshire Film and Media Collaborative will present a second exclusive one-day How to Be a Production Assistant Workshop on Saturday, October 26, from 9AM-2PM, held at Berkshire Community College (BCC) in Pittsfield, MA. The workshop will be led by Berkshire native, Jake Diamond, who started as a Production Assistant six years ago and has worked his way to becoming a 1st or 2nd Assistant Director. The course will equip participants with fundamental skills crucial for success as a Production Assistant (PA) on film or television sets. The Berkshire Film and Media Collaborative is repeating this program, because last summer’s program sold out.
Workshop participants will engage with real-world scenarios and industry-standard practices, covering everything from set preparation, craft service, roles and responsibilities and equipment management. Jake Diamond will personally guide attendees through the essential tasks and nuances of the PA role.
“In this workshop, I aim to share not just the technical skills but also the invaluable insights and etiquette necessary to thrive in any production environment,” says Jake Diamond, who’s on prominent commercial projects for brands like Verizon, HBO, and Timberland and several independent feature films. “Participants can expect to gain a practical knowledge that will set them apart in the competitive world of film and television production,” added Diamond.
"We're excited to be offering this workshop again with BCC for people looking to gain the skills necessary to work on a production set,” says Diane Pearlman, BFMC Executive Director. “This is one of many we offer annually throughout Western Massachusetts.
