Chicago’s historic Printer’s Row neighborhood sets the stage for one of Chicago’s most hip and cool art fests! The Printer’s Row Art Fest, in conjunction with the South Loop Neighbors and the Greater South Loop Association, celebrates its sixth year on Saturday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11, attracting locals and tourists alike. Located on Dearborn Street from Polk to Harrison, the fest welcomes 95 juried artists from near and far showcasing incredible art from painters, street artists, jewelers, up-cycling artists, photographers, woodworkers, sculptors and more – at all price points! Live music throughout the weekend adds to the fun vibe, while local restaurants, cafes and bars offer a multitude of eating and drinking options. Family friendly, the fest features activities for kids, the very popular “Start to Paint” on-site painting classes, artist demonstrations, selfie stations, and several designated “Kid Friendly” booths where artists welcome children into their space to learn more about the art making process. Admission is free and there is nearby parking, as well as a convenient parking garage one block away on Harrison. The show is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Attendees are invited to bring their gently used art to the festival where it will be donated to the Chicago Furniture Bank, a nonprofit that distributes furnishings and art to those leaving shelters and moving into permanent housing. Several artists from this show are participating in Amdur Productions’ Green Ribbon Project. Artists place a green ribbon on a piece of art in their booth, and if the piece is sold, 10% of the sale will be donated to Amdur’s charitable partner, which is the Chicago Furniture Bank.
