Celebrating Resilience
Join us at the Power of the Purse Luncheon, hosted by the Women’s Fund of the Blue Ridge—an inspiring and heartwarming event where women come together to make a lasting impact. Not only will you enjoy delicious food and great company, but your presence will also help fuel positive change for women and girls across Watauga, Avery, and Ashe counties.
The luncheon includes:
- Opportunity for social connection with over 300 women making a difference
- Silent and Live Auction with items ranging from jewelry, clothing & accessories to trips, experiences, and artwork
- Plated lunch & dessert with wine/tea/coffee (dietary restrictions will be accommodated)
- Inspiring discussion from our Keynote Speaker, Laura Linney, an acclaimed actress and producer known for her exceptional performances across film, television, and theater. With a career spanning over three decades, she has earned multiple Emmy, Golden Globe, and Academy Award nominations. She has won one SAG Award, one National Board of Review Award, two Golden Globes, and four Emmy Awards. She holds two honorary Doctorates from her alma maters, Brown University and The Juilliard School.
Linney's dedication to her craft extends beyond her on-screen performances. She is an advocate for the transformative power of the arts, believing they are essential to leading fuller and more prosperous lives. Linney has also been honored for her work in cancer advocacy. Having lost family to cancer, she understands the unique physical and emotional damage inflicted on victims and families. She aims to help them find ways to cope, grow, and rebuild so that each one can truly win his or her fight against cancer.
- Molly Grantham, four-time Emmy winner, three-time author, national speaker, and proud mom, will serve as the moderator and auctioneer for this event. Molly Grantham has been named “TV News Reporter of the Year” and juggles life with humor and poise, bringing clever wit to diverse crowds. She delivers hundreds of keynotes and has interviewed over 15,000 people in her 25 years of television news. In addition to her interview skills, Molly is also a trained and active charity auctioneer, bringing non-profits around the country to earn record-breaking amounts.
