The Portola Art Gallery presents "Wandering Over the Line: Paintings that Wrestle with Reality and Wander into Abstraction" -- oil paintings by Patricia Jones. This collection of paintings depicts the energy and vitality of the California landscape with bay, river, and pasture scenes, as well as floral arrangements.
A reception for the artist will be held on Saturday, March 8, from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M., and a "meet the artist" day will be held Friday, March 14, from 11:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.
Influenced by her many years of study under Russian and Californian Impressionists, Patricia's use of thick paint and loose brush strokes elevate our everyday surroundings to a new level and breathe fresh life into overlooked subjects that surround us every day.
In addition to her direct apprenticeship under Impressionist masters, Patricia holds an MBA from Stanford University. She had a career as a high-level executive at the Gap before venturing into oil painting. Patricia has exhibited widely and is in collections across the U.S. and in Europe.
