Pop Art Portraits
Pop Art was an art movement that emerged in the 1950s that drew inspiration using sources from popular culture such as movies and music. In this class we are going to have a blast creating our very own Pop Art styled portraits.
Students are to bring in their own images of themselves or of others to use as inspiration for their portraits. Students will draw both from the image and from using a mirror. These portraits will be created with various materials and inspired by the Pop Art movement. Finished portraits will be bold, bright, and of course fun to create. There is no way to be wrong in this class for the emphasis is not to be perfect but to use your imagination and to have fun!
Class will take place Tuesdays, April 4 through April 25 and is taught by Maggie Stewart.
