Affinity Ranch to Host Inaugural Ponies with Purpose Gala in Parker
An evening of inspiration, connection, and impact to support equine-assisted services for individuals of all abilities
Affinity Ranch invites the community to saddle up for an unforgettable evening of inspiration and impact at its inaugural Ponies with Purpose Gala, taking place Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 6:00–9:00 PM at the DCSD Legacy Campus Ballroom in Parker, Colorado. Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour, dinner, and exciting live and silent auctions—all in support of life-changing equine-assisted services for individuals of all abilities.
Located in Parker, Affinity Ranch provides equine- and small animal-assisted therapies, recreational programs, and mental health services to children, teens, and adults with physical disabilities, developmental differences, and emotional or behavioral challenges.
Through adaptive horsemanship and equine-assisted learning, participants gain confidence, independence, and meaningful connection—guided by certified therapeutic riding instructors and supported by a compassionate herd of therapy horses.
Licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists utilize the movement of the horse to promote strength, language development, coordination, and sequencing. At the same time, mental health clinicians partner with horses to offer equine-assisted psychotherapy, helping individuals build emotional resilience and develop healthy coping strategies in a nonjudgmental, nature-based setting.
The demand for Affinity Ranch’s services continues to grow, with over 200 individuals currently on a waitlist hoping to access the healing power of equine-assisted programming. The Ponies with Purpose Gala plays a vital role in helping the organization expand its capacity and reach more families in need.
“This isn’t just a fundraiser,” says Executive Director Shannon Forslund. “It’s a celebration of resilience, growth, and the possibilities we create when we come together.”
All proceeds from the event directly support Affinity Ranch’s mission to make these transformative programs accessible to those who need them most. “Every auction item donated and every paddle raised helps open the gate to Unbridled Possibilities for the people we serve,” Forslund adds.
