ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Polly’s Run, the race to cure pancreatic cancer and the prime fundraiser for pancreatic cancer in New Mexico, will return to Tiguex Park in Albuquerque on Saturday, May 31, 2025, inviting runners, walkers, families, and supporters to come together in the fight against one of the deadliest forms of cancer. The event includes a 5K Run/Walk and Kids K, and is dedicated to raising awareness and critical funds for pancreatic cancer research.
Founded in 2009 in honor of Polly, who lost her battle with pancreatic cancer, Polly’s Run remains rooted in its mission to end pancreatic cancer for good. The race has established an endowment at the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center (UNMCCC). Last year, the endowment reached a critical point in its history, when the fund reached $500,000 in 2024, and created the Polly Rogers Professorship in Pancreatic research. UNMCCC is currently working to hire an oncologist to specifically steward the goals of the endowment and advance Pancreatic Cancer research. Once the fund reaches $1,500,000, the endowment will be fully funded in perpetuity and an entire department will be dedicated to Pancreatic Cancer research.
