Come to Pottsgrove Manor on Saturday, July 12th at 11am for a presentation by artist and researcher, Mary Chisak, as she explores art in the 18th century. After the presentation, stay for the 1pm Plein Air watercolor painting workshop session on museum grounds.
Mary Chisak has been a volunteer at Pottsgrove Manor since 2022. Mary and her husband, Ed Chisak, have been dedicated to the Powering Production Project, transcribing household ledgers, daybooks, and other primary sources. Mary's commitment to research helps Pottsgrove Manor staff to understand the inner workings of the Potts and those living and working within Potts-owned business ventures. Chisak has explored watercolor painting at previous Mayfair events, showcasing her talents and sharing insights with the public. This lecture and workshop will dive deeper into art history as well as the techniques to complete such botanical watercolor paintings.
We welcome all artists (advanced to novice) with an introduction to watercolor painting provided to beginners if desired. Bring your own supplies or purchase a $25 premade art kit provided by Pottsgrove Manor. If more time on site is needed, return to the Manor each Saturday from 11am-1pm for continued instruction through August 2nd. Participants are invited to submit their works to be featured on the museum’s social media pages.
