The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is hosting an exhibit of plein air paintings created by local artists. An opening reception will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10 at the Fellowship, 1532 Forrest Nelson Blvd., Port Charlotte. The paintings were created by members of the Peace River Painters, a group of plein air artists – that is, they painted outside, much as the French Impressionists did. The Peace River Painters go to a different location each Monday morning, and this exhibit features some local landmarks that may be familiar to area residents. The reception is free and light refreshments will be served. The exhibit will remain on display through Friday, Dec. 1.
