Planet Earth Family Fun Night - FREE!
Dozens of scientists, researchers and employees will be on hand at the Brockton Public Library for the 6th annual STEM Week event, to encourage K-12 students and their families to learn more about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities and STEM careers. More than two dozen participating organizations, schools and individuals will include Keynote speaker Channel 5 Meteorologist David Williams, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute scientists, Brockton Public Schools Envirothon Club, a Smithsonian Museum of Natural History exhibit about soil, Massasoit Community College bee project, Plymouth County Extension and Mosquito Control, Home Depot Kid’s Workshop, Manomet Conservation Science activities, and many more. There will be demonstrations and hands-on activities about bees, bugs and mosquitos. Create a “Tornado in a Bottle,” see what you can get to fly in the “Wind Tube,” help build “Science Meets Art: Celebrating Diversity with Seed Mosaics” and take home a plant courtesy of the Brockton Garden Club.
