Joe shares the story of Stella Dixon, director of the Albuquerque Public Library from 1918 to 1935. Coming from Texas in 1910, Dixon presided during the 1918 flu pandemic, the construction of the Main Library, and the difficult days of the Depression and was one of the founders of the New Mexico Library Association. Joe’s research follows her genealogy in order to present the full story of her career and what the library was like in the 20s and 30s.
