On Sunday, June 16th, Father's Day, the Philadelphia Father’s Day 5K Run/Walk for Prostate Cancer will take place on MLK Drive. The fundraiser, which was formerly named 'The Gary Papa Run' will raise money for the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center Prostate Cancer Programs. The mission of the Prostate Cancer Programs is to reduce prostate cancer incidence and mortality by aggressive research and development.
The event will take place at Paine’s Park and MLK Drive. On-site registration will begin at 7am, with the run/walk beginning at 8:30am.
Participants are encouraged to wear their best neck or bow tie to honor all of the dad’s on Father’s Day. Prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 Overall Male and Female Finishers, top overall male and female under 10, and in age categories 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79. 80+, as well as to the participant wearing the best tie.
