Parisian Organist Laurent Jochum Returns to the St. Andrew Concert Series

Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the exceptional artistry of Laurent Jochum, one of Paris's finest organists, on Sunday, March 2, at 4:00 PM at St. Andrew the Apostle in Clifton, Virginia. This joyful “musical Mardi Gras” before the Lenten season will include one of J.S. Bach’s most important works, the Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor (BWV 582), as well as César Franck's Chorale No. 3 in A minor, a masterpiece of passionate beauty composed only weeks before his death. Works by Denis Bédard, Alfred Lefébure-Wély, Mons Leidvin Takle, Thierry Escaich and other notable artists round out this not-to-be missed program. About the Artist Laurent Jochum serves as the principal organist at Saint Jean-Baptiste Church in Belleville, Paris. A winner of several prestigious international competitions, Jochum performs regularly in France and abroad. He has graced renowned venues such as Notre-Dame Cathedral, Saint-Etienne-du-Mont, La Madeleine, and Saint Clotilde in Paris, as well as other significant venues worldwide. His repertoire spans from baroque to contemporary masterpieces, including romantic and symphonic music of the 19th century, and his recordings have received critical acclaim. Jochum will perform on the majestic St. Andrew pipe organ, known as the Organ of the Holy Archangels, built by the Peragallo Organ Company. This magnificent instrument, designed in the French Romantic style, features three manuals, 51 ranks, and 2,891 pipes.
