Parent Loss Workshop
Haven is a nonprofit, nonsectarian community organization of trained volunteers that offers emotional support to the bereaved, the seriously ill, the dying and to their families and friends. Haven also provides education to the community about the needs of those who are grieving.
Since September 1976 Haven volunteers have helped individuals work through their grief, offering comfort and support by sharing insights, resources and techniques that encourage recovery and healing. Haven offers support to those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Support is conducted by trained volunteers, not therapists. No cost to attend. The death of a parent can be numbing and devastating-you may have feelings of sadness, loneliness and abandonment. No one can heal your pain; however, Haven of Northern Virginia is here to offer comfort, support, and encouragement. Come to this workshop to learn ways to cope after this difficult experience.
