Painting in Pen/Ink, Oil, Aqua Oils, or Acrylics 1-day workshop with Kathryn McMahon


Part 1. Design and Execute a Small Sketch or Painting from a still-life setup; or from an artist’s photo. Part 2. How to Make a new painting from an old painting – Cut and Paste a small area from an old painting and Make a New Painting [5×7 ,6×8 or 8×10]. Materials: Students bring any one of these mediums: pen/ink, Aqua Oils, or Acrylics. If bringing oils use an odorless mineral sprits like Gamasol or something similar. Acrylic painters – a slow drying acrylic called Golden Open is highly recommended, but not necessary. Bring a canvas or paper for painting; 5×7, 6×8, or 8×10 (you can use canvas boards) For afternoon session, artists should bring an old painting that can be cut down and pasted. Paste and boards will be supplied by the instructor.
