Cityscapes have become very popular in the 21st century as they show the grit and bustle of urban life. They depict manmade features such as architecture, bridges, cars, and often they include the interactions of humans in the scene. Studying cityscapes allows for an exploration of perspective, the illusion of space, and gestures in moving figures. In this class, explore and learn how to paint your own cityscape paintings. Bring in your own photos, and let us explore by composing urbanscape paintings that speak to the times and surroundings we live in.
