Pacific Bus Museum’s Annual Summer Open House
Come See This Hidden Bay Area Gem in Fremont
If you’re looking for something to do this summer, consider visiting the Pacific Bus Museum in Fremont, CA. The Pacific Bus Museum is a hidden Bay Area gem. It’s a rolling museum with a collection of restored buses representing over 100 years of motor coach transportation. This includes many examples from Bay Area transportation pioneers such as the Key System, Pacific Greyhound, Peerless Stages as well as historic buses from San Francisco MUNI and AC Transit. And children really love the classic California-built Crown “twinkie” school buses that are indelibly etched into so many memories.
August Open House
You can visit the Pacific Bus Museum year round on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month, but they pull out all the stops for their annual August “Open House” where numerous buses are on display along with a BBQ and flea market.
This year’s Open House will be on Sunday, August 17, 2025, 11am - 3pm. Most of the PBM fleet of antique and modern buses will be on display for photo opportunities and interior viewing. We may also be joined by some visiting buses. There will be a BBQ lunch available for a $17 donation ($10 for children 10 and under). There will be a bus memorabilia flea market with antique bus items for sale.
Who We Are
The Pacific Bus Museum is an organization dedicated to preserving the history of bus transportation.
The museum was founded by a group of “bus enthusiasts” who enjoyed getting together and “talking shop”. Out of this nucleus was formed the Pacific Bus Museum, an all-volunteer, tax-exempt organization based in Northern California. Our vision is to preserve, restore, operate and display buses and bus related material for the education and enjoyment of the membership and the public.
Where We Are Located
