In celebration of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, Diane's Helping Hands, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, will host its 5th Annual Ovarian Cancer Awareness Walk on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Dunkin' Park in Hartford, Connecticut. This year's theme, “Think Teal & Walk Proud,” invites the community to a family-friendly celebration of hope, remembrance, and resilience; bringing hope to those impacted by ovarian cancer, honoring those we have lost, and celebrating survivors.
The mission of Diane's Helping Hands is threefold:
• Awareness — educating the public about ovarian cancer, a rare form of cancer that often presents no symptoms in its early stages.
• Comfort — providing cancer patients with handmade craft items and words of encouragement.
• Healing — encouraging patients and their caregivers to embrace the journey by promoting self-care.
The family-friendly event sponsored by Connecticut Health Foundation and Universal Health Foundation of Connecticut, will feature a covered walk route, a Kids Area sponsored by (Raising Cane’s), a Crafting for a Cancer Area (sponsored by Infinity MedSpa of Glastonbury), vendors, and raffles. Community members, businesses, and organizations are invited to register or sponsor the walk in support of Diane's Helping Hands' mission and programs.
