The OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival Spring Edition presents its Ladies’ Latin Spotlight with the North American premiere of Jone, Sometimes (Jone, batzuetan) (Spain, 2025), a coming-of-age romantic drama, at 7:30 p.m. on April 25 at Silverspot Cinema – Downtown Miami. An afterparty will follow the screening.
Set against the exuberant streets of Bilbao’s Semana Grande festival, Jone, Sometimes follows 20-year-old Jone as she experiences the dizzying intensity of first love with Olga while her father’s Parkinson’s disease worsens. Amid fireworks, music, and late-night conversations, Jone’s affection for Olga becomes a catalyst for self-discovery and emotional emancipation, blurring joy with vulnerability. Sara Fantova captures desire, tenderness, and the uncertainty of becoming in a film where queer intimacy exists as a natural, radiant force. This coming-of-age portrait is at once spirited and poignant, celebrating love’s ability to transform, sustain, and define us.
In Basque and Spanish with English subtitles; the film runs 80 minutes.
This year’s OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival Spring Edition runs through May 3 with select films available for OUTshine At-Home viewing from May 4 - 10.
