Out Of My Comfort Zone: Explorations of The Past, Present, & Future
Created through a collaborative process of writing, storytelling, and devising, this performance shares real-life journeys of migration, displacement, and the search for belonging. At a time when public narratives about displaced people are too often shaped by fear and misinformation. “Out Of My Comfort Zone” invites audiences into a space of empathy, beauty, and connection — directly with those living the experience. The Creative Pathways Program is an innovative pilot initiative funded by the Rhode Island Department of Human Services. Designed for Rhode Island Works participants, the program emphasizes ESOL education through the arts. Participants engage in immersive workshops led by teaching artists and expressive arts therapists, using creativity as a tool not only for learning English, but for personal growth, healing, and community building.
Admission is free and open to the public. Registration required.
