Our Mother of the Northern Valley Mural
Local artist Andrew Joseph will give a presentation on how he meticulously crafted this four-story mural of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe in downtown El Paso, using 1⁄4-inch pieces of colored glass.
Based on exhaustive research, Joseph’s image of the Virgin merges Mayan motifs with Catholic tradition, communicating the layered history of Paso del Norte and the founding of its first mission 365 years ago.
Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe reflects the precision and dedication inspired by the craftsmanship of artist Tom Lea.
