Othello of Overtown
A New Musical inspired by the life and legacy of Miami Artist Purvis Young. Othello of Overtown brings Theater. Jazz. History. Legacy. Featuring Rare Archival Footage. The play depicts the early years of Purvis Young's career as he learned from local librarians, painted the people and activities of Miami, and developed a body of work that would eventually make him one of Florida's most celebrated artists. Attend the readings as part of the development of the full production scheduled in 2027.
