Opening Eyes and Minds Art Workshop: On Social Justice Theme - "Refugees"
Social justice awareness opens the eyes and stimulates the minds of artists. Join us for this enlightening, in-person, and free workshop and jump into the powerful world of art and social justice as we explore the captivating theme of refugees. Reflect on the theme, get inspired and use your artistic voice to create in response, using a new technique, an artwork expressing your feelings, views, messages… shedding light on your own unique perspective.
Saad Ghosn, founder of ‘SOS ART’ (Save Our Souls), will present an initial introduction and group discussion. Instructor and artist Jeff Casto will guide each participant as they explore the new technique of assemblage/construction, applying it to the theme of refugees as they create their own piece. At the end of the course, the class will share their creations and their insights, no matter their personal leanings and philosophies, in a welcoming place for diversity of perspectives.
