The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Connecticut will host its Fall 2026 Open House on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the UConn Waterbury campus, located at 99 East Main Street.
This free community event is open to adults age 50 and over who are interested in continuing their education, connecting with others, and engaging in a vibrant intellectual community.
The open house offers prospective members and guests an opportunity to experience OLLI’s welcoming atmosphere firsthand while learning about its upcoming fall semester of courses, lectures, and special programs. The event will be held at 99 East Main Street, with free parking available in the attached garage (entrance at 55 North Elm Street) for registered guests.
OLLI’s fall catalog features over 60 courses designed to inspire curiosity and connection. New courses for the upcoming session include Irish for Beginners; an examination of the Russo-Ukraine War; the evolution of the U.S. presidency; and five horsewomen of the American Revolution. Courses span a wide variety of subjects, from history and the arts to music, writing, contemporary issues, gardening, language, personal wellness and much more. There also are special events with guest speakers, as well as nature walks and tours of area attractions.
Courses are offered in-person and online, with flexible scheduling and affordable pricing. Open house attendees can enjoy coffee and conversation with current members and staff, an OLLI overview, sample presentations and instructor introductions. Check-in, coffee, and informal networking begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a comprehensive overview.
“OLLI is more than a program—it’s a community,” says Fiona de Merell, director of OLLI at UConn. “Whether you're interested in literature, history, wellness, or the arts, OLLI has something for everyone. Our open house is a chance to experience the joy of learning, meet new friends, and discover how OLLI can enrich your life.”
