Old Westbury Gardens Sunday Concert Series: Savannah Sky
Old Westbury Gardens Sunday Concert Series presents the Savannah Sky Country duo of Nina Gordon and Skip Krevens. Get ready for a great hour of classic country, bluegrass, and a generous helping of rockabilly and western swing! Here's a bit about them to whet your appetite:
Savannah Sky has been delighting audiences throughout the tri-state area for over two decades, performing at clubs, parks, county fairs, private functions, and many other major venues including Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing and the Hunter Mountain Country Music Festival, where they opened for national acts including Johnny Cash, Little Jimmy Dickens, Trisha Yearwood, Dwight Yoakam, Travis Tritt and many others. They performed for many years at the Queens County Farm Museum and are always a hit at the Great Neck Plaza summer concert series.
Vocalist and guitarist Nina Gordon is a Long Island native who has been entertaining audiences throughout the NY area for decades, in both solo and ensemble performances. Vocalist/Lead guitar & pedal steel player Skip Krevens has appeared on Broadway in several shows and is in demand as one of the area's top session players.
Concerts are at 3:00 at the Barn at Orchard Hill, rain or shine - bring a hat and lawn chair or blanket (and a picnic, if you'd like) to sit on the lawn, or join the performers in the Barn, where chairs (and a/c) are provided. Come early and enjoy the beautiful grounds and perhaps take a tour with the knowledgeable docents. A free shuttle is provided between the parking lot and the Barn. (and other parts of the Gardens).
The concert is included with Gardens admission. An advance reservation for the Gardens is required (unless you're a member) and available by clicking here (be sure to select the correct and time range).
Gardens admission: Adults: $15; Seniors (62+) and FT Students: $13; Children 7- 17: $8; Children under 7: Free.
