Oh God...Beautiful Machine
The Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey (CPNJ) proudly presents the world premiere of Oh God...Beautiful Machine, a monumental symphonic jazz work which wrestles with the conundrum of loving the earth in a time of climate change. The collaboration features text composed by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Yusef Komunyakaa and music composed by Princeton University Composer-in-Residence, Vince di Mura.
Conducted by Sebastian Grand. Join us for an unforgettable evening as we premiere Oh God...Beautiful Machine — a genre-blending symphonic celebration of the Earth. Featuring jazz, classical, and Chinese influences with a choir and song. (This piece is approx. 90 minutes). There will be a brief intermission.)
