Now Is the Time

Are you concerned about the increasing frequency of floods, changes in air quality, and the economic consequences of extreme weather? Join us for a FREE Community Conversation on October 23. For many in our County recent floods have threatened our homes and livelihoods, while remote fires have impacted our local air quality and the health of our families. The economic challenges caused by these environmental events remind us that we are not immune to the emerging trend toward extreme weather events and changes to our natural environment. Lindsey Slater Bio Slater, a graduate of Carroll University, holds degrees in Environmental Science and Broadcast Meteorology. She began her weather career in 2006, covering major events across Mississippi and Missouri, and returned to Milwaukee in 2016 to join the WISN 12 News Weather Team. She is a member of the American Meteorological Society and holds the NWA TV Weathercaster Seal of Approval. What Is a Community Conversation? A community conversation is a structured dialog of active listening and sharing that brings together members of a community to discuss shared concerns, ideas, and aspirations. The main purpose of a community conversation is to create an open and inclusive space where diverse voices can be heard and ideas can be shared. Why Your Voice Matters. Participation gives you the opportunity to share your unique perspectives, experiences, and ideas and hear those of others. By participating, you can ensure that your perspective is heard, while fostering the creation of a more inclusive environment, advancing mutual understanding, contributing to the collective community, and inspiring positive change.
