Just a short 20 months ago, the Federal Funds rate was a scant 0.5 % compared to 5.5% today. The costs of borrowing have dramatically risen. Whether it is a mortgage on a home, financing new business equipment, or renewing a business line of credit, the costs have risen faster than inflation.
