Mr. French’s lecture will address the intersection between religion and politics in 21st Century America. The speech will follow a welcome by series sponsor / moderator Darrell M. West, senior vice president of the Brookings Institution, former Brown University professor, and Central Congregational Church member. The evening will conclude with a question-and-answer forum open to the audience.
Prior to becoming a columnist for The New York Times, Mr. French was a senior editor at The Dispatch and a contributing writer at The Atlantic. A graduate of Harvard Law School, he is a former constitutional litigator, who has argued high-profile religious liberty cases, and a past president of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education. Mr. French is also a New York Times bestselling author, former major in the United States Army Reserve, and veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was awarded the Bronze Star.
