New Year, New Hope! FREE Spring Cancer Caregivers Education Program
From managing appointments and medications to navigating emotional stress and financial strain, caregivers are the unsung heroes of the cancer journey.
On Wednesday, May 21, the Arizona Myeloma Network will host a FREE Cancer Caregivers Education Program in Glendale. Open to in-person and virtual attendees, the seminar offers practical tools, expert insight, and connection for those caring for loved ones facing cancer.
This year’s event is especially meaningful. It honors the late Jack Kavanagh, a 33-year cancer survivor and Barbara Kavanagh, founders of the Arizona Myeloma Network. Barbara will lead the event, joined by top cancer specialists and caregivers, to spotlight the challenges and strength behind caregiving.
8am – 9am: Registration, check in for ‘in person’ attendees.
9am - 1pm: Faculty includes: Barbara Kavanagh, MSW, LCSW., Founder and Ceo, AMN & Cancer Caregivers Educational Programs, CCEP as well as leading cancer doctors and healthcare professionals from City of Hope, HonorHealth, Calviri Research, & SW Prostate Foundation. Also, Cancer Patient/Caregivers presentations and Panel. Lunch included.

Barbara and Jack, a 33-yearmyeloma cancer survivor, founded their 501c3 cancer charity, Arizona Myeloma Network, AzMN© and Cancer Caregivers Education Program, CCEP© in 2004, to help other cancer patients and families like ‘theirs’. They have been providing free cancer information and resources for cancer patients, caregivers, and families, with special outreach to the underserved for over 20 years. Their new Online Cancer Caregivers Education Program© is now available for free and provides valuable information.
The Mission: No family should face this devastating disease alone!
THE Need: In 2025, the estimated new cancer diagnoses will be over 170,000 per month, over 2 million per, year, in the U.S, and over 3,500
new cases per month in Arizona.
For every cancer patient there is at least one caregiver or a ‘family’ of caregivers.
The average caregiver devotes 40 hrs. a week to some caregiver tasks, often while still working and caring for a family member.
