Journalists and news organizations employ classic storytelling techniques—such as character development, narrative arcs, and scene-setting—to explain issues, as well as appealing to and influencing the opinions and actions of the audiences. Come to this presentation to better understand how news is no longer “just about the facts”
Not so Reality TV with Lindsey McGraw
- Did you know that reality TV is not as realistic as Hollywood makes it seem? What if I told you that often, the “reality” depicted is only as real as one of your favorite fully-scripted shows? Buckle up, and hold onto your butts as one fellow nerd takes you on a journey of reality make-believe through my experiences working in the tv industry. The lines between reality and storytelling will become a little blurry!
