Benjamin Wang, a CDHS member, was a member of New York City’s Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) before moving to the Capital District. CERT is a community outreach program of NYC’s Emergency Management Office. CERT members are volunteers who are trained to support first responders during disasters, help people displaced from their homes, and educate communities about emergency preparedness.
In this meeting, Benjamin will discuss how to prepare yourself and your loved ones for emergencies and natural disasters the Capital District may experience. Topics will include making a plan, gathering supplies, sheltering in place, and evacuations. Print materials on preparing for emergencies and disasters will be available for in-person attendees
This program begins at 1:00 PM, both in-person and via Zoom. The in-person event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available starting at 12:30 PM. Please bring your own beverage.
