National Blood Donor Month
Donate blood and be a lifesaver … The Scarsdale Public Library will host a blood drive with the New York Blood Center Friday, Jan. 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Last year the community donated 87 pints of blood at the library, potentially saving 261 lives. A single pint of blood can save the lives of up to three individuals.
The actual time for the blood donation procedure is about 15 minutes and most eligible donors will resume normal activity immediately after having a snack. Walk-ins are possible but registration is strongly recommended.
