On July 20, 1969, humanity first stepped onto the lunar surface. 12 men in all explored the Moon during the Apollo program, which ended in 1972. Now NASA is preparing to return to the moon in early 2028 with the Artemis mission and the new Orion space capsule. Artemis II captivated the world this spring with its lunar flyby, the first since Apollo and the furthest humans have ever been from Earth. Jim Porter has worked as an aerospace engineer at several NASA locations, most recently the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA. His popular presentations are engaging and easy to listen to for all levels. This program will be held in the Kate Gleason Auditorium. Register Here: https://calendar.libraryweb.org/event/17193636
