MOTOWN VALENTINES:
A BIG BAND LIVE TRIBUTE TO MOTOWN ERA HITS
AT THE REPUBLIK
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 14th
The soulful R&B jams of the 60s will be recreated with an epic 10-piece live band, the Powerhouse Horns and 15 of Honolulu’s fiercest soul singers, including local stars Paula Fuga and Tavana, American Idol finalists Big Mox, Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner, Yoza, local favorites, Kahnma, Melodie Soul, Keith Batlin, Riya Davis, Melissa Diallo, Noah Ilalaole, Praise Jesus Artis, Keahi Delovio, and Evan Khay. Under the direction of Mark Lindberg & Paul Nelson, we will be rolling out Motown-era classic hits like Aretha Franklin’s “Respect,” Sam Cooke’s “Cupid,” and "Dancing In The Street" from Martha Reeves and the Vandellas.
An original opening set will be provided by Blues-Rock band Kings of Spade.
KINGS OF SPADE are a high-energy, foot-stomping, shameless dancing Blues-Rock act from Hawaii. Picked as openers for both Guns ‘N Roses and Bon Jovi, KOS has toured as openers for King’s X in the US and Europe. Their latest album was produced by 9 time Grammy winner Dave Cobb.
