Mock Caldecott Award Competition
Join Regents Professor Kathy Short and Associate Professor Desirée Cueto to:
• Browse previous Caldecott Medal winners based on the selection criteria,
• Read a set of books from 2023 that are being considered for the 2024 award,
• Vote for the best picturebook published in 2023 using the Caldecott voting process, and
• Decide how many honor books to select.
Enjoy refreshments as we read and debate what is the most distinguished picturebook for this year.
The American Library Association will announce the awards in a live streaming on January 22, 2024, so we can compare our decisions with the official award-winners.
