Miracle-Ear Offering Free Hearing Checks at Mall of America on March 1
The “Test the Nation” event offers photo and video opportunities, LIVE broadcasting welcome.
• WHAT: Miracle-Ear is offering free walk-in hearing checks at the Mall of America as part of its annual “Test the Nation” initiative, which is designed to help individuals nationwide assess their hearing health. Three certified hearing care professionals will be onsite to conduct the hearing assessments via otopad. During the event, visitors will be invited to share when they last had a hearing test and place a corresponding sticker on a larger-than-life ear display to visually reflect their response. Attendees will also have a chance to view the discreet size of today’s hearing aids, book an appointment, and take part in a complimentary hearing assessment. The Miracle-Ear Foundation, which provides hearing aids for people who would otherwise not be able to afford them, will be giving out complimentary ear plugs.
WHO (Interview Opportunities):
• Michael Joseph - BSc (Hons) Aud, Associate Director, Amplifon Americas: can speak to the reality of hearing health, including how many people experience hearing loss, when people should seek help and common causes of hearing loss. He can also discuss why early intervention is essential.
• Miracle-Ear spokespeople: can speak to the significance behind this annual initiative and the importance of offering it to Minnesotans.
• Potential opportunity to speak with someone who received a complimentary hearing examination to share their personal experience with hearing loss, what inspired them to attend the event and how the results will impact next steps.
WHY: With 15% of U.S. adults reporting some difficulty hearing and approximately one in five Minnesotans reporting they are deaf or hard of hearing, which amounts to more than 1.1 million people across the state, it’s essential to conduct regular checks to protect long-term hearing health and improve quality-of-life. Miracle-Ear believes that hearing health is essential health and is challenging Americans everywhere to get their hearing tested in March. “There are just as many people under 50 with hearing loss, than there are over 50 with hearing loss,” says Dr. Tom Tedeschi, Au.D.,FNAP, and Chief Audiology Officer of Miracle-Ear.
Miracle-Ear will be located in MOA's North Gardens.
