Emmett, the award-winning “macro-Mediterranean” restaurant from chef Evan Snyder and Julian van der Tak, is set to welcome acclaimed restaurateurs with Philly roots Manny and Gina Ocasio of Mira, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and one of most talked-about from Buffalo, NY, for a one-night-only collaborative dinner on Sunday, November 8. This dinner marks a homecoming of sorts for both Manny and Gina – as Manny honed his craft at Zahav and Jean-Georges, while Gina helped launch Fiore Fine Foods, where her work earned a “Best Pastries” honor from Philadelphia Magazine in 2019. It was here in Philadelphia that the two met, and later settled in Buffalo together prior to opening Mira in November 2025.
The collaboration between Emmett and Mira promises a four-course menu seamlessly blending Italian, Spanish and Greek influences with Levantine flair. Highlights include:
- Fermented Chickpea Kalinti – brown butter, king crab, sunchoke custard, osetra caviar
- Roman-Spiced Hanger Shish – sweet & sour onion, beef biajeen with grilled maitake, amba tahini + pickled celery
- Olive Oil Cake – sherry cream, Sicilian pistachio crumble, fig leaf gelato
