Mint Cannabis Partners with Vitalant to Bring Life-Saving Blood Drive to Tempe

Mint Cannabis is joining forces with Vitalant this September to host community blood drives across the Valley, starting with Tempe on Sunday, September 21, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Mint Cannabis, 5210 S. Priest Dr., Tempe, AZ 85283. The need for blood donations is critical, and every pint donated helps save lives. Donors (ages 21+) will not only experience the satisfaction of giving back but will also receive: A product voucher from the Mint, redeemable for a future visit; A free hemoglobin A1C test, which helps inform you of your risk for prediabetes or diabetes; Entry into Vitalant’s drawing for one of two $10,000 gift cards to be awarded this month. Walk-ins will be accepted, but individuals who make an appointment in advance will be prioritized. To schedule a donation at the Tempe drive, visit vitalant.org/Mint, download the Vitalant app, or call 877-25-VITAL (877-258-4825). Blood donors are constantly needed in Arizona, particularly in September, when supply is low. According to Vitalant, 600 blood donors are needed every day to meet the needs of 62 Arizona hospitals. Less than 3% of the population gives blood, yet someone in the U.S. needs blood every two seconds. During each donation, about one pint of whole blood is collected. The process usually takes about an hour, including a complimentary mini-physical, the average 10-minute blood draw, and a visit to the refreshment area. “At Mint Cannabis, we are thrilled to team up with Vitalant to host another series of blood donation drives,” said Eivan Shahara, CEO of Mint Cannabis. “The September blood drives provide an opportunity for all of us to do our part by donating blood to save lives.”
