Milwaukee Avenue Historic District 50th Anniversary Celebration
This milestone event honors the dedicated residents and neighborhood activists who helped save and rehabilitate this area—serving as both a model of neighborhood-led preservation and renewal, as well as a powerful reminder of what communities can achieve when they unite around a shared vision.
The celebration will feature a community picnic, live music, and a commemorative program, including a mayoral proclamation and a storytelling panel with original resident rehabbers.

Schedule of Events:
12:00–1:00 PM – Bring a picnic, blanket, or lawn chair; enjoy live music, and complementary treats by Rebecca’s Bakery, Pizza Lucé, and A Bar of Their Own.
1:00–2:00 PM – Commemorative Program: Includes a mayoral proclamation read by Mayor Jacob Frey, historical background on the district, and a storytelling panel with original resident rehabbers.
2:00–3:00 PM – Entertainment & Community Gathering: Enjoy music, a special anniversary cake, and connect with neighbors.
